Cookie Policy
Effective date: 1 January 2025
Propxima uses cookies and similar technologies on our platform. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies we use, why we use them, and how you can control them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to website owners. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and browser-based event buffers.
2. Cookies We Use
We use two categories of cookies:
Essential cookies
These are necessary for the Platform to function and cannot be switched off. They include:
- Session and authentication tokens — keep you logged in during your session.
- Listing activity tracking — records views and shares on property listings to populate the statistics visible to listing agents on their dashboard. This is a core platform feature, not third-party analytics.
- Consent preference (
p360_cookie_consent) — stores your cookie choice so you are not shown the banner on every visit.
Non-essential cookies (analytics)
These help us understand how users interact with the Platform so we can improve it. They are only active if you click Accept all on the cookie banner. They include:
- Contact interaction events — records when a user clicks to contact an agent via WhatsApp, phone, or email, so we can understand which contact channels are most used.
- Guidance interaction events — records when in-app guidance components (tooltips, coach marks, callouts) are viewed, dismissed, or clicked, to help us improve the onboarding experience.
3. Your Choices
When you first visit the Platform you will see a cookie banner. You can:
- Accept all — enable both essential and non-essential cookies.
- Essential only — enable only the cookies necessary for the Platform to function. Non-essential analytics will not be collected.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse or delete cookies. Note that disabling essential cookies may break Platform functionality such as staying logged in.
4. Changing Your Preference
Your choice is stored locally on your device. To change it, clear your browser's local storage for this site (or contact us and we can advise). We do not currently offer an in-app preference centre, but plan to add one in a future release.
5. Third-Party Cookies
At the time of this policy, Propxima does not use third-party analytics platforms (such as Google Analytics) or advertising cookies. If this changes, this policy will be updated and you will be notified.
6. Governing Law
This Cookie Policy is governed by the laws of Zimbabwe, including the Cyber and Data Protection Act, 2021 (Chapter 12:07).
